VirusBarrier Express & VirusBarrier Plus let you run quick scans, which scan only those locations where malware is commonly installed. You can also see its path at the bottom of the alert dialog when a file is selected. Right-click or Control-click on the file's name and choose Show in Finder to see the file's location in the Finder. In this case, you should note where the file is located and check to make sure it's safe. You can click Ignore if you think that the file was mistakenly flagged as containing malware. Click on the file to select it, then click Repair to have VirusBarrier Express or VirusBarrier Plus eliminate the malware. If you have the appropriate permissions, the Repair button will be blue. If VirusBarrier Express or VirusBarrier Plus finds any malware or infected files on your Mac, it displays an alert showing the name of the file. To resume a paused scan, click the Resume Scan button. If you wish to pause a scan, click the Pause Scan button. You can stop a scan at any time by clicking the Stop Scan button. VirusBarrier Express or VirusBarrier Plus will first count the number of files to scan, then, during the scan itself, will display the number of files scanned and the percentage of the scan completed. (For standard administrator accounts, this includes all applications in your Applications folder, as well as most system files in the Library and System folders.) ![]() This will scan all files in your home folder, as well as other files that you are allowed to read. To scan all files for which you have permissions, click the Full Scan button below VirusBarrier Express's or VirusBarrier Plus's orb. Note: Because of limitations of applications available via the Mac App Store, VirusBarrier Express and VirusBarrier Plus do not have real-time malware scanners, and only scans files when you tell them to do so. You should do this immediately after installation to ensure that you don't have any infected files, and you should scan your Mac again each time you update the program's malware definitions. You can run a manual scan with VirusBarrier Express or VirusBarrier Plus whenever you want. Other than the types of malware detected and the command-line tool, the two programs are similar.
